Album

Dazzle Ships is the fourth album by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark OMD, released in 1983. The title and cover art designed by Peter Saville allude to a painting by Vorticist artist Edward Wadsworth based on dazzle camouflage, titled Dazzle-ships in Drydock at Liverpool. Dazzle Ships was the follow-up release to the band's hugely successful Architecture & Morality 1981. OMD, then at their peak of popularity, opted for a major departure in sound on the record, shunning any commercial obligation. Покупайте и продавайте винил и компакт-диски, формируйте. Radio Prague is a radio recording of the call sign from the Czechoslovakian radio station of the same name. Genetic Engineering was the first single released from the album. ABC Auto-Industry features a recording from Czechoslovakian radio actually by a presenter called Vladimir who presented a weekly economic talk on Radio Prague. The theme was the use of robots in Czechoslovakian industry. The ABC and 123 are by Paul Humphreys. Telegraph was the second single released from the album but had originally been considered as the first release. This Is Helena uses a recorded br. OMD's glistening run of top-flight singles and chart domination came to a temporary but dramatic halt with Dazzle Ships, the point where the band's pushing of boundaries reached their furthest limit. Dazzle Ships was OMD's fourth album overall and the follow-up to their massively successful Architecture and Morality album, The highly-experimental Dazzle Ships differed from their previous releases by exploring the use of digital sampling keyboards. Though not a commercial triumph when it was originally released, it is now considered one of their finest musical moments. You'll receive email and Feed alerts when new items arrive.
