An obscure Massachusetts band of the late 1960s, Lazy Smoke offered a sort of Transatlantic psychedelic sound with roughly equal debts to American and British influences. Their biggest debt was to the Beatles, and although they were hardly exceptional in that regard, the resemblance commanded more attention due to the fairly close similarity of leaderchief songwriter John Pollano's vocals to those of John Lennon. What we have here with Lazy Smoke, with the bands name being a reference to marijuana, is a group hailing from Massachusetts during the late 60s who used The Beatles as their guiding vision, complete with a lead singer , who pushes the envelope with his John Lennon influences. With Pollanos writing also flying under the flag of Lennon, the band lays out a series of songs very much in the moment of light weight popish psychedelic numbers of the day.
