Signature Sevens, Vol. K-DEFs musical synapses formed amidst Hip-Hops golden-era of late night radio DJs andthe then-emergent art of sampling. Being creatively inspired and active during this unique point in time granted K-Def a position constantly ahead of the curve when it came to production and DJing, both conceptually and technologically. His arc from apprentice to master propelled throughout the 1990s and 2000s working with artists from LL Cool J, Lords Of The Underground, Larry-O as Real Live, Ghostface Killah and Diddy, to scoring for television networks HBO and BET, earning him praise as a producers pr. Other exciting cuts include Paul Woolford's 'Don't Waste My Time', which delivers a direct slice of percussive house music, and Andhim's remix of 'Ngeke' by Armonica and Toshi, which gives the compilation a dose of icy-cool eccentricity. as an avid SOS supporter, i always know to expect quality, but i must say i was BLOWN AWAY by this package when it showed up. from the A/B dual colored wax (1st i have seen) to the amazing Joe Buck art on the picture disk and deluxe sleeve, to the added bonus beats flexi, this is one of the best all around vinyl packages i have ever seen. hell, the 7" weighs more than some of my old LPs! leave it to Slice of Spice to raise the bar even higher.
