Now Merge has reissued them in excellent new mixes the SST version of You're Living All Over Me in particular sounded as if it had been recorded on gauze through a metal funnel with good photos, liner notes, and slightly rejigged tracklists. With its thin, unbalanced mix, the album sounds positively menacing and edgy - Lou Barlow's bass barrels forward over Murph's clanking drums, with J Mascis' guitar twisting pummeling riffs and careening, occasionally atonal solos. The newer pressings maintain the same catalog as the older pressings. Poledo is unique from the rest of the album in that half of it is a lo-fi recording of Lou Barlow singing and playing ukulele, much like his own group Sebadoh, while the other half is a collection of sound collages and abstract noise pieces.
